For those who are buying or selling a home, a termite inspection is often a necessary part of the transaction. Some of the things to keep in mind include:

The person purchasing your home may include provisions regarding this inspection in the closing agreement, requiring the seller to address the problems or allowing the buyer to back out of the agreement if the damage is significant.

What does a termite inspection include?

The termite inspection process usually lasts between 30 minutes to an hour during which time our trained pest technician will carefully inspect the following areas of the home: Interior, Crawlspaces, sub-flooring, and other sub-spaces, plus Attics in some cases

The inspector then writes up a report to be included for the lending entity and/or the buyer that includes his or her findings. This may be a report that they found nothing, that they see signs of a treated termite problem such as dead termites, or that there is an active termite problem.
